DAY 01 - SALTA/ LERMA VALLEY (-/-/D)
Pick up at Salta city for a two hours drive to La Viña. Meet the horses on the montainous forest of Lerma Valley. Last minute packing before riding West into the Dead Lion's range. At sunset, arrive at the mountain shelter where we wil lbe awaited with an energizing homemade dinner. Night in camp in Lerma Valley.

DAY 02 - LERMA VALLEY/CALCHAQUI VALLEY (B/L/D)
The dense forest gradually gives way to high altitude grasslands. Once we reach approximately 3000mts and have the chance to see more condors, we descend into the desertic Calchaqui Valley. We head towards the town of Amblayo where we will spend the night. It has only 150 dwellers. Sense the feeling of arriving on horseback to this tiny town with no cars! It is renowned for its goat cheese. Traditional lamb barbecue at dinner. Night at Amblayo. The Northwest

DAY 03 - CALCHAQUI VALLEY/CAFAYATE (B/L/D)
We walk the town and visit its Colonial chapel. We then leave Amblayo riding into the mountains and into Cafayate Creek where the mounts have a look of the Grand Canyon in Colorado. We camp by the home of a local family. Traditional lamb barbercue at dinner. Night in camp in Cafayate Creek.
DAY 04 - We ride towards Las Conchas River Gorge. Today we will have the chance to see one of the best views of Salta. Las Conchas River is our ending point. Say farewell to the horses. Back to Salta City.
End of program.

Pace: Slow. 6-7 hrs /day
Level: Suitable for novice to experienced riders. Wide selection of horses to suit all riders’ level.
Weather: Summer Hi 86°F - Lo 50°F; Winter Hi 70°F - Lo 32°F. The program is subject to the natural weather contingencies involved in any environment like this.
Included: Transfers to/from Salta city, accommodations (3 night shelter, 2 nights w/bath (1 night w/ hot shower)), meals and beverages. Guides, gauchos, horses, pack mules, camping equipment. Not included: flights, travel insurance, gratuities.
